My client started out wanting to only create more privacy on her property in one area.  As the design process proceeded, it became apparent that having a lovely and new backyard to really enjoy was what she wanted as well.  Not only did she want a lush and "zen" type outdoor space, but she wanted a more decorative location for her fish pond, more wind protection for her covered deck area, and a more lovely view from her living room window.  More interesting and more functional.  We achieved those goals and more!
